국립현대미술관
청주는 국립현대미술관의 소장품 보관과 전시를 엮어놓은 곳이다. 그 중 이번 디지털 스토리:이야기가 필요해 전은 미디어 아트 작가들의 소장품을 위주로 기획된 전시이다. 다양한
미디어 작품들이 전시장 전체를 채울 예정이었다. 디지털이 등장하고 정보의 처리 능력이 상상을 초월하면서 사진과 영상은 일방적인 메시지의 전달을 넘어서고 있다. 송신자와 수신자가 실시간으로 소통하고 송신자는 다시 수신자의 영향을 받는다. 이번 전시물은 반응하는 유형이 아닌 사진과 영상물 위주로 구성되었기에 송신자와 수신자의 위치를 전시장에서 구경하는 행위로서 혼재하는 방법을 고안했다. 미디어로 표현되는 작가들의 세상을 관객들은 휴대폰이나 카메라 등 자신의 미디어에 담게 된다. 전시장에 펼처진 미디어가 미디어에 담겨 중첩되는 현상, 즉 하이퍼매개가 현장에서 일어나고 있다. 공간은 이 현상이 장면으로 만들어지도록 극대화 하고 싶었다. 커다란 화면과 같은 구조물, 넓은 면을 가진 기둥들은 어느 위치에서든 프레임을 만들어낸다. 그 안에서 미디어를 담는 나는 누군가에게 또 미디어로 담겨진다. 미디어라는 커다란 전시장 안에서 관객이면서 동시에 객체가 되는 시간을 보내게 된다. |
With the advent of digital and the ability to process information beyond imagination, photos and videos are going beyond the one-way delivery of messages. The sender and receiver communicate in real time, and the sender is in turn influenced by the receiver. Since this exhibition was composed mainly of photos and videos rather than reactive types, a method was devised to mix the locations of the sender and receiver as an act of viewing in the exhibition hall.
The audience captures the world of artists expressed through media through their own media such as cell phones or cameras. Hypermediation, a phenomenon in which media displayed in the exhibition hall are contained and overlapped with each other, is occurring on site. We wanted to maximize the space so that this phenomenon could be created into a scene. A structure-like and pillars with wide surfaces create a frame at any location. I, who contains media within it, am also contained as media by someone else. In a large exhibition hall called media, you spend time as a spectator and an object at the same time.
