인천공항 PALE BLUE DOT 2247

인천공항 PALE BLUE DOT 2247 전시의 구성물을 진행했다. 전시 안내 가구, 공간 구획 벽, 작품의 받침, 소파 등의 물체가 만들어졌다. 작가들의 작품을 침범하지 않도록 그리고 어우러지는 환경을 조성하도록 균형을 유지하며 필요한 기능을 수행한다.

공간을 구획하고 전시 안내를 수행해야하는 벽은 거대한 파티션으로 접근했다. 주로 일방으로 이동하게되는 탑승동에서 관람객의 방향에 맞춰 파티션의 각을 조절할 수 있도록 만들었다.
염인화 작가의 작품은 스테인레스 스틸로 계획되었다. 주변의 기존 가구가 나무로 되어있었기에 정돈되지 않은 환경으로 보일 수 있었던 것을 메탈 원단으로 감싸는 방법으로 작품과 질감을 맞추고 일정한 영역을 형성한 것처럼 보이는 공간적인 효과를 만들었다.
양정욱 작가는 광장에 작품이 설치되어 파손의 우려로 관람객과의 일정 거리가 필요했다. 작품의 매대를 만들고 전시 안내와 가드라인을 매대의 구성중 하나로 디자인해 도드라짐이 없으면서도 필요한 역할을 수행한다.

We developed the exhibition components for "PALE BLUE DOT 2247" at Incheon International Airport. The project involved creating various elements, including information kiosks, space-dividing walls, artwork pedestals, and seating. These objects were designed to fulfill necessary functions while maintaining a balance—ensuring they complemented the environment without encroaching upon the artists' works.

The walls required for spatial zoning and visitor information were approached as large-scale partitions. Given the concourse's layout, which generally directs the flow of traffic in one direction, the partitions were designed with adjustable angles to align with the visitors' movement.
Artist Yeom In-hwa’s work is crafted from stainless steel. To prevent the surrounding area—filled with existing wooden furniture—from appearing cluttered, we wrapped the installation in a metal mesh fabric; this harmonized the textures with the artwork and created a spatial effect that visually defined a distinct zone.
Artist Yang Jung-uk’s work was installed in an open plaza, necessitating a buffer zone between the piece and the public to prevent damage. We designed a display platform that integrated information signage and safety barriers directly into its structure, allowing it to perform these essential roles unobtrusively.
